Other Honda Civic (2006 - 2011) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

That at 60 years old I should know better!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Draws looks and comments all the time (and jealous comments from younger chaps when my wife gets out - she's 60 too!)

Would you buy this car again and why?

Umm - probably not - once you've done it once ....

What are you likely to buy next?

BMW 5 series, or maybe the new Alfa 166 if it's as good as the 166 and 159 I've had ....)

  • Buying experience

    3 out of 5 3.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £16,000

When did you buy the car?

    March 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yep, car was a year old, but only 7k on the clock. Also got a good trade-in on my 55plate Alfa 159.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

The looks & reputation (general reliability, and the i-VTEC engine specifically!

    What was the dealer like?

    Very helpful

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Obviously a bit harder suspension than some (eg my company Astra SRi Sportback), but easy enough on motorways, and sticks to corners like .... glue!

    What's it like to park?

Mid-screen spoiler at the rear shows you shouldn't design cars and smoke dope at the same time!! Also, low profile tyres should have a side-rib to save you kerbing your lovely alloys!

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing in 14k since I've had it. Usual occasional sticky 3rd gear.

What's most practical about your car?

Internal space, rear seat folding to give a simply enormous and usable load-space

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

GT version has all the toys, but the very best gadget is that engine when it throws the final 50bhp at you when the iVTEC cuts in! (oh, and the Milano Red paintwork, if that counts!)
