What does this car say about you?

I didn't buy this car for my personality. This car offers so much more then being an object to reflect ones persona.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

The car always gets positive comments. I've never met anyone who doesn't like the look of the S2000.

Would you buy this car again and why?

This is my second S2000. I originally had a Monte Carlo Blue S2000 and sold it to buy a Berlina Black one. And do you know what? I think I may just buy another!

What are you likely to buy next?

Most likely another S2000. I may go for the last Grand Prix edition they did.

    No

    £4,600

When did you buy the car?

    June 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

I got an amazing deal. I paid £4600 for this car. I searched the internet for months trying to find what I was looking for. A Berlina Black S2000 with low miles and full history in great condition. The search payed off!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Special reason I bought this car? Shouldn't the question be why hasn't everyone bought one? - Amazing style - Blistering performance - Well equipped - Reliability - Presence - Cost This car offers everything.

    What was the dealer like?

The lady who sold me the car was lovely. Very welcoming. It wasn't a rushed sale. She appreciated I'd driven 200 miles to come see the car. We went for a test drive and I knew I was going to buy this car.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

The engine is unprecedented! The F20C2 engine roars round to 9000RPM offering 240BHP and gives off a noise that makes you wonder why they bothered fitting a stereo. This, mated with close range 6 speed manual transmission gives a super car feel. A real mechanical movement through the gears is felt. The handling is one of the best in this cars category! The pre 2002 S2000's featured a more "lairy" suspension arrangement which can be frightening for the inexperienced! But when you bring the RPM back down to 3000 and drive normally, the car settles down and merely hums. Nothing on the road within S2000 budget money offers a drive such as this.

    What's it like to park?

As with any car this is depended entirely on skill. The long bonnet can be misjudging for the slightly nervous parkers. I find it relatively easy and have full confidence in using the mirrors without having to turn my head at all. Visibility is good with the roof up.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing to report at all. I've never heard of an S2000 having major faults at all. As with all high revving valve timed engines, at 9000RPM you WILL consume oil. Regular checks and top ups when required will see this engine out living the bodywork.

What's most practical about your car?

For a small sports car, it is well equipped for storage. The boot is relatively generous given its rear suspension design and having the differential consume a lot of boot space, grocery shopping is still possible. The interior features a cup holder space combined with an ashtray and there are 2 cubby holes in the center. Electric everything as standard for convenience.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The speed in which the roof folds back is brilliant. You can be at the traffic lights and withing a matter of seconds you can turn the car into an open top cruiser before the lights even change.
