Even my daughters (both aged 18+) like the car. They just have the old hangup about the 'badge' - lack of street cred.

Yes. Value for money, and the 5 year warranty.

Did you get a good deal and why?

With an Hyundai Getz the base price is around £6900 new. Extras such as metallic paint come in at £295. By purchasing a 2 and half year old CDX1.1 model, I have a car, in metallic blue, with central locking, electric windows all round, electric door mirrors etc, that new, would be just under £9k.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Saw the Getz at the recent London Motor Show. The manufacturers 5 year unlimited mileage warranty convinced me that this is a quality built car. Purchased from a main dealer and got the remaining 2.5 years of the warranty, the proviso being that I have the car serviced once a year.

What was the dealer like?

Purchased from Southend Hyundai. Salesman knowledgeable and not pushy. Did not have a test drive - I took the salesman's word that this was a very good car. Phoned me to confirm date when I would be collecting the car, so to ensure it was valeted.

What's it like to drive?

Seats 5 comfortably. Positive gearbox, quiet engine. Comfortable drive at all speeds, but not going to break any 0-60mph acceleration records.

What's it like to park?

Very good vision all round. The power steering makes it a doddle.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing. Done nearly 1000 miles since purchase.

What's most practical about your car?

Split rear seats that fold twice to provide good luggage space.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Excellent Sony stereo (Standard build)
