In their own words

Am a huge mini fan, love the way they look and handle. But, the last one I bought had very strange steering, needed constant corrections to keep it straight - didn't really self-centre that well. Took it back to dealer for refund as they couldn't find anything wrong. I test drove a few more, most were ok but found another similar handling one which put me off spending my hard-earned on another mini until they sort out their issue. Looking for another car, I test drove an i10, 1 litre engine. It was ok! It doesn't make my heart sing like a mini, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Having driven father in laws 1st generation i10, the new '23 plate one was a huge improvement with the way it drove and having all the gadgets. I decided on a 1.2ltr as the 1ltr was a little... bland.. I think I made the right choice. I couldn't find a used couple year old 1.2ltr around locally (which in itself is a good sign I guess!) so I managed to track down a new one in their mangrove green - nice colour. Been driving it for a month, it's an easy car to drive, it almost drives itself around town. I have appreciated the heated and very comfy seats now winter is here and the easy short cut to turn off that dangerous invention that is lane assist each journey. I've yet to get to much speed, fastest so far is a local 40mph and that's smooth and pokey enough to get there. The link up with phone is a great feature as can use waze maps from my phone on the display. It's a very good city car which is exactly what I need - I rarely drive motorways. The negatives are the clutch biting point is very high, I remember clutches being a problem with the i10, including father in laws so perhaps they still need to sort that out still and there is something in the back that rattles a lot which I can't track despite having nothing in the boot yet. Oh, also, have to be firm in shutting the boot as it doesn't catch that well and easy to leave open.

How reliable do you find the car?

Need to find out what's rattling but as reliability goes I have only had it for a month so too early.
