Jaguar XK Coupe (2006 - 2014) 5.0 V8 2d Auto Owner Review

The XK is a refined, quality and great to drive and own car. It can be a relaxed tourer soaking up the miles easily, relaxed in comfort, engine below 2000 rpm yet can be an exceptional sports car with a wondrous V8 (400 bhp) and relatively light, thanks to the extensive use of aluminium. It can be whisper quiet but can certainly roar when making a bit more use of that glorious 5 litre V8. The car looks stunning (shape, and colour, in Caviar - a factory custom paint with Zirilic pearl over-lay) and has a fabulous interior that just oozes quality and is so comfortable. One of the family described my XK as “sex on wheels” and I wholeheartedly agree. Sure, the boot is not cavernous but ideal for a long weekend away for two. I’ve get 34 mpg on motorway driving at, let’s just say 70 or thereabouts, and I normally will achieve 28 mpg on combined driving. My local Jaguar dealership has been fantastic - you get what you pay for, I suppose! One day, I’m going to struggle to get in and out of my XK but hopefully, it will be cherished and return the same enjoyment and satisfaction to a younger member of the family.
