Land Rover Discovery (1998 - 2004) 2.5 Td5 S 5d (5 Seat) Owner Review

This replaced my old 110 Defender and I can honestly say the Discovery is a far better vehicle. It drives better, handles better and to some extent is a better off road vehicle too with its abs system also providing traction control. You can retro fit a diff lock if you want but I haven’t found the need for it as of yet.
The biggest advantage over the defender is the heater works and it’s so much more comfortable.
I have the auto box and it’s behaved well. I would go for an auto again, it makes everything so much easier and fun.
I service everything myself, which is a distinct advantage because they need a little TrC if you are to keep them in the best of confition.
Mine does not have a sunroof, which was an important factor for me because they can leak.
I tend to waxoyl the chassis inside and out every couple of years and this keeps it in the best of conditions.
I bought a low mileage solid vehicle and it’s important that you start with something good.
