No as obviously unreliable and I don't trust it now.

What are you likely to buy next?

Finally decided to take a hit and trade it in to BMW as they offered me 15k against a 5 Series even after I told them about the replacement gearbox.

Wanted a modern and reliable 4x4

Typical Land Rover, just wanted to sell expensive new cars or used at a high premium

What's it like to drive?

I have owned my Deisel 2.2 SE Auto Freelander 2 since it was new in May 2007 and have been generally very happy with it. I travel approximately 24,000 miles a year, mainly using it for my daily commute from Leeds to Manchester across the M62 in all weathers and now have 55,000 miles on the clock. The vehicle performs well with it's punchy deisel, feels very safe and is more than capable of comfortable cruising.

Very easy

Have you had any problems with the car?

The car has had some niggles with the air-con unit and minor electrical problems such as false readings from the on-board display and sat nav errors. Had thoroughly enjoyed owning the car until I was offered 13k (cost 31k new in 2007)as part-ex against a 2007 Range Rover Sport with 30,000 miles by the Land Rover Dealer. Depreciation is horrendous so don't buy new! Unfortunately I have now given up on the Freelander 2 as I have just had a major auto gearbox failure on the motorway and although totally replaced under warranty (without question)it's left me lacking in confidence as to ongoing engine and gearbox reliability.

What's most practical about your car?

Generally very practical. Service cost are fairly high, tyres every 20,000 miles and brake pads front and rear regularly if used on urban roads, but both items last longer with mainly motorway use.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

As far as finish and quality of fittings are concerned I would say they are probably a little bit better than an older Range Rover Sport of similar specification.
