• Summary

What does this car say about you?

Than I am governed by practicality and don't care about the opinions of badge snobs.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all like it, esp rear passengers who love the view from the slightly raised seat position. All have been impressed by the fuel efficiency.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I was VERY worried over the build quality when I found out it was being finished in Turkey. Groundless...it is solid, no rattles from loose panels or annoying malfunctions. The seat are comfortable too, esp drivers with lumber support control (standard).

What are you likely to buy next?

Bipper, if the outdoor model is still in production.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    January 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

No,my particular model is too much in demand. UK dealers are not in a strong position to negotiate with EU car manufacturers.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Fuel efficient, low emmissions, large boot.

    What was the dealer like?

Less than honest about delivery times. My car took 5 months to arrive after I was initially told it would be two.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

I was nervous buying this as my experience of peugeot handling was not good and I had been driving a modern fiesta (Clarkson style!). I was amazed at how good the handling was for such a slab. I can feel the traction control kick in on corners and this keeps the van beautifully stable. It is NOT a car for whingers. I learnt to drive in pre-80s cars and camper vans. Modern cars therefore all seem a breeze to me. The Bipper had an unexpected grin factor which is still there.

    What's it like to park?

A doddle and I'm rubbish! Big rear window, van mirrors. If you are truly awful you can add rear parking sensors but then maybe you shouldn't be on the road???

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nope. Grin factor is still at max.

What's most practical about your car?

£60 to fill up diesel tank and then I just forget about it for weeks. Averages 50mpg in heavily congested areas, travelling average speeds of 28 mph. I have to take her out on a run over 50mph every so often to keep diesel particle filter clear. Using eco mode on a trip up motorways I averaged 68mpg. A more patient driver may get even more.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

This is a basic van style vehicle which is actually rather refreshing after my previous techie Ford. The stereo is awful, I haven't heard anything so bad since 1980s.... Put your own in if you value your sounds. My model has aircon and you need this if you wish to avoid boiling behind the vast amount of glass in the summer. Boot is huge for such a small wheel base, unbelievably no longer than a modern Fiesta.
