Other Porsche 944 (1982 - 1992) models:

  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

Want to own a classic sports car that's becoming more and more collectable. I agree that "they don't make cars like they use to" anymore. I'm a pure pistonhead, no fancy onboard computers needed, just a big engine in a great chasis.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Awesome car, very nostalgic from an era when greed was good.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, I would opt for the turbo version. The 2.5L does not have enough power to be fun. It also doesn't have the great Porsche burble sound.

What are you likely to buy next?

    The Porsche 928.

    No

    £1,000

When did you buy the car?

    October 2011

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    To have fun.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    2 out of 5 2.0

    What's it like to drive?

Disappointing power. This is the non-turbo 2.5L Lux model and there is hardly any torque, zero acceleration fun. I find it slow and unengaging. If I had known how disappointingly powerless it is I would paid a bit more and opted for the Turbo version.

    What's it like to park?

Fine but power steering isn't great as it's an old car.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Wheel bearing needed replacing, exhaust heat shield loose, heating not working.

What's most practical about your car?

MPG not bad for an old car, have also managed to fit 2 baby seats in the back seats with satisfactory space. The car has done in excess of 140k and still runs well. No engine faults so far.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Electric roof. Great looking body / shape.
