What does this car say about you?

A trendy, urban dweller but I got bullied in the rush-hour when a Toyota estate forced his way (brake light on/off) into a tiny space in front of me. I can't help but think that this wouldn't have happened in any other car.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Cute but weedy.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Proton have no chance of this making any effect on the city-car market. My overall mpg figures of just over 40 are poor for a small 1.2 litre car. It needs steering adjustment and an exterior boot latch so you can open it from the outside, a glaring omission!

Did you get a good deal and why?

The car is over-priced for what it is. (£6995 for the manual 1.2 Style in 2006).

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I test-drove this car to see whether city cars are as refined as larger vehicles. In the case of the Savvy, I was massively mistaken.

What was the dealer like?

What's it like to drive?

The Savvy is agile and energetic enough in the city but the engine feels and sounds strained above 30,000rpm (60mph). The gearbox feels agricultural with little fluidity between changes. I feel self-conscious in this car.

What's it like to park?

Very simple, even easier with rear parking sensors which are fitted as standard. When in reverse, the gearstick hits the passenger seat (when forward).

Have you had any problems with the car?

The gas struts for the hatch are too weak so it takes an age to open. Also, the rear doors need a good slam to close fully.

What's most practical about your car?

Its size, even though its fitted with rear parking sensors as standard.
