Rover 200 Coupe 216 2d (1996/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Can pick 'em up for less than £2k now for a nice one. Not many extras though.
Costs
Parts aren't much more expensive than Ford/Vauxhall.
-
On the road
Driving
Nice drive, but handling a bit dodgy on the bends.
Performance
Performance doesn't really match its looks. Chassis too big for 1.6 engine.
-
Living with it
Reliability
N/S door handle, 2x head gaskets, rear shocks, water pump - all in 18 months! This is K-series engine (Rover), maybe better off with Honda engine?
Image
It's a head turner. Shame about the badge.
Comfort
Nice driving position, spacious rear for a coupe.
-
Security and Service
Security
Alarm + immobiliser with keyfob, but not much protection with the targa roof.
