Rover 200 Coupe 220 Turbo 2d (1994/L) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
£1400 for a 93k in very good condition. absolute bargain for the power you get for so little money.
Costs
Heavy on juice and insurance, but not as bad as many other equivalents. parts cheap enough from motor factors.

On the road
Driving
Standard suspension very uncomfortable-lowering on up rated shocks/springs helps matters no end. very well behaved on the motorway, and once the handling is sorted great fun on the country lanes!
Performance
Stunning. In straight line most everyday cars get left for dead!
-
Living with it
Reliability
no real problems so far apart from the exhaust manifold developing a blow. expecting many other niggles over the next few months though!
Image
bit dated now, but colour cosing the grille makes a world of difference! still a pretty sleek shape, but dash and controls are so old fashioned it's a little embarassing. especially the faux-wood trim!
Comfort
Wouldn't like to be a back seat passenger, but for two in the front it's perfectly acceptable.

Security and Service
Security
Standard stuff mediocre - difficult to bypass if remote fob stops working and you want to fit a whole new aftermarket system. Not the hardest thing in the world to steal I imagine.
Service
rover dealers currently got enough to worry about-tend not to bother with them. at this age and price, independent garages will do just as well.

Exhaust blow from manifold, but so far so good!
