• Summary

What does this car say about you?

    No nonsense.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Nice looking. My Dad owns the older generation Subaru Outback, though, and isn't impressed with this newer model.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. The road noise and rattles are very annoying. It doesn't seem quite as well built as the previous generation. Subaru seem to have focused on adding gizmos like keyless entry, electronic parking brake, etc. which I don't need, and skimped on things like the quality of plastics on the interior trim.

What are you likely to buy next?

    BMW X3; Mercedes E Class; Volvo XC60, XC70 or V60 perhaps.

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    What price did you pay?

    £12,750

When did you buy the car?

    June 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Price paid was about average. No bargains I think due to low availability of this model.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Previous Subaru Outback owner (2005 model).

    What was the dealer like?

Pleasant and helpful but didn't completely solve all issues with the vehicle prior to delivery.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

    Composed but noisy.

    What's it like to park?

Quite easy. A beeping parking sensor would have been better than the parking camera, though.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Annoying rattle/noise from the boot (tailgate).

What's most practical about your car?

    Interior space is great.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The sat-nav/in-car entertainment system is pretty good.
