What does this car say about you?

Practical; outdoorsy; not a badge snob; know the difference between an exceptional car and one with a trendy image.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Wife says its the best car we've ever owned; kids love it (and are disappointed if they have to drive other cars); friends are always surprised and impressed when they get in it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Definitely Yes. Its a superb all round vehicle and excels in so many ways: supremely comfortable; hugely spacious (in all three rows); very high spec; easy to drive/park; fantastic torque/pulling-power; utterly reliable; cheap to service, tax and insure. Practical and honest; it may not have the prestige of a Discovery or GL but - unless you're a badge snob - its a far better vehicle in almost every way.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Another Cruiser, without a doubt.

    October 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

    Happy with the deal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted a spacious, reliable, luxury 7-seat 4x4 that could serve as a main family car and wouldn't cost the earth to buy or maintain.

    What was the dealer like?

Superb; courteous, genuinely friendly, not at all pushy, very accommodating (e.g. drove the car 70 miles to our house to allow us to have a final test-drive).

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Supremely comfortable (and easy) to drive over short and long distances (and challenging terrain); very smooth on country lanes, in town and on the motorways; brilliant in snow too (and obviously peerless off-road). Only downside is fuel consumption (24 in town; 29/30 on motorways), but well worth it, as it excels in so many other ways.

    What's it like to park?

Despite its size, the Cruiser is surprisingly easy to park (even in tight spaces at Tesco), thanks to the multiple external cameras and park-assist gadgets. Wife says its far easier to park than any 'normal' cars she's had in the past. Despite feeling much bigger inside than a Disco, its actually a tad narrower outside, which makes it even easier to squeeze into tight spaces.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing wrong (but its a Toyota Land Cruiser, one of the most reliable vehicles in the world - we wouldn't expect anything to go wrong).

What's most practical about your car?

Everything! Superb all round vehicle, and a wonderful family car. Hugely spacious in all three rows (especially when compared to the Discovery); very high spec (with just about every gadget and convenience one could ask for); 3-row seating is fantastic, especially the ability to slide individual seats forward/backward in the 1st and 2nd rows. Tons of storage space in all three rows. Massive boot (e.g. we fitted a washing machine, larder fridge/freezer and dishwasher in the back during a recent house move). And its totally reliable (which is also an important practical consideration!).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

So many to choose from, and they're all brilliant... however favourites are the multiple parking aids/cameras; they making parking SO easy (even in the tightest of spaces).
