Alfa Romeo Spider Convertible boot space, practicality and safety

1996 - 2004 (change model)
Practicality rating: 2 out of 52.0

It doesn’t feel like an especially strong structure and there is no roll over protection, but you do get traction control, ABS and a couple of airbags. This is an area where the GTV is starting to show its age and Euro NCAP never crash-tested it. An alarm and immobiliser are standard.

A deep but narrow boot won’t swallow much in the way of luggage, but there is some space behind the front seats for extra carrying. The glove box is not very generous thanks to the passenger airbag and the roof is a bit fiddly to raise.
