Toyota launches time-saving online portal for finance users

  • New portal for customers financing a car through Toyota
  • Available to drivers using PCP and Hire Purchase schemes
  • My Finance lets drivers make payments and update details

Toyota has launched a 24/7 online portal, named My Finance, for drivers funding their car through the manufacturer’s PCP or Hire Purchase schemes – following increased take-up of online banking among consumers.

Drivers can make payments online

The new secure website and apps let Toyota drivers view details of their finance agreement, make payments, update their address or bank details, request changes to the payment date and source a settlement figure via a computer, tablet or through Apple and Android smartphone apps.

Available through the car company’s self-service My Toyota hub – which displays service history details and provides journey planning functions among others – the new portal allows drivers to communicate with the brand easily and securely.

Industry-first finance functions offered

"My Finance is now live and is proving to be very successful," Doug Gillies, managing director of Toyota Financial Services, told Parkers. Gillies added: “If you look at our industry there isn’t to our knowledge a truly online-capable motor finance company. So this is a bit of an industry first.”

The company hopes that at least half of finance customers will be using this service within the next 18 months, according to Gillies, with greater functionality likely to be added then. At this point, the second phase of My Finance will potentially see the system being used to communicate directly with customers and provide tailored finance offers to current Toyota drivers.
