Parkers has launched a brand-new section dedicated to campervans, giving buyers straight-talking advice, real-world reviews and expert guidance in one easy-to-navigate hub. It’s designed to help first-timers and vanlifers alike cut through the noise and make smarter choices – whether they’re spending £3,000 or £130,000.
Led by our very own campervan enthusiast and expert Graham King, the new section brings together practical tips, ownership advice, jargon-busting explainers and side-by-side comparisons of popular vans. Crucially, it retains Parkers’ trademark independence and consumer focus, offering guidance buyers can trust.
Demand is rising fast. Google searches for campervans have increased eightfold over the past decade, and more than 16,000 new motor caravans were registered in the UK last year alone. With more than 1.5 million owners already on the road – and half of them under 35 – this is no passing trend.

Plug-in power and the road ahead
As with the rest of the automotive world, electrification is now on the horizon for campervans. Volkswagen’s all-new Grand California will be offered as a plug-in hybrid for the first time, offering a cleaner, quieter alternative to traditional diesels without giving up the long-distance freedom that van buyers demand.
Pure-electric options remain thin on the ground for now, but that’s likely to change. As more buyers start looking for low-emissions alternatives and more councils tighten restrictions on older vehicles, the industry is slowly shifting. Parkers will be tracking this transition every step of the way.
Built for buyers, not dreamers
The new Parkers campervan section is designed to help people get it right, without the fluff or fantasy. It covers everything from layout tips to payload limits, conversion types to common pitfalls. Whether you want a compact car-derived camper or a full-fat Crafter, it’s all there.
Campervan Editor Graham King said: ‘Buying one can be overwhelming, there’s a lot of jargon, a lot of variation, and a lot of money at stake. What we’ve done at Parkers is simplify that world and give people the confidence to buy the right van for them, whether it’s new or used.’

What this means for you
If you’ve ever dreamed of chucking a mattress in the back and hitting the road, you’re not alone. But modern campervans are more complex than that – and more expensive too. Making the wrong choice can be a costly mistake.
That’s why Parkers is stepping in with proper, no-nonsense advice. Whether you’re comparing layouts, debating diesel vs hybrid or trying to decide whether to go factory-built or converted, we’ve got you covered.
And if you’re already a van owner, our new section has plenty for you too – from accessory advice to upgrade tips and troubleshooting guides.

Editor’s view: more vans, less vanity
I’ve always had a soft spot for campervans. My first experience was a 1987 Talbot Express in beige with fake wood trim and tartan curtains. It was ridiculous, slow and leaky – and I loved it.
That was a long time ago, but the appeal of the campervan hasn’t changed. What has changed is the complexity. Today, you’ve got air suspension, lithium power banks, induction hobs and wet rooms. It’s a world away from rusty Hiaces and bargain Bedford CFs.
That’s why I’m so proud of what Graham’s building here. It’s not just van-life fluff or regurgitated brochures – it’s proper advice for people spending serious money. And we’ll keep expanding this section as the market grows, electrifies and diversifies.
