Fiat has confirmed prices and specifications for the new Grande Panda, with UK order books now open. The big news is that the electric version costs from £21,835 with Fiat’s E-Grant applied, while the petrol hybrid starts at £18,035. Both models combine retro-inspired styling with modern tech, aimed squarely at buyers who want value as well as character.
The Grande Panda EV comes with a 44kWh battery offering up to 199 miles of driving range, making it a genuine rival for the Renault 5 E-Tech and Hyundai Inster. The hybrid pairs a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with a small electric motor for a total of 100hp, driving through a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Both cars sit on a shared platform with other small Stellantis models but are given Fiat’s distinct design cues – square lines, pixel-style LED lights and a simple, upright cabin.
Fiat is also setting the pace on affordability. Its own E-Grant takes £1,500 off the list price of the electric model, making it one of the cheapest EVs on sale in the UK. Details of how the Government’s new Electric Car Grant (ECG) affects the Grande Panda is expected soon, so the price could fall further.
‘The Grande Panda represents everything Fiat stands for – clever design, affordability and accessibility,’ said a Fiat spokesperson. ‘It’s a car that makes the transition to electrification easier for everyone, while still celebrating the spirit of the original Panda.’
What this means for you
If you’ve been holding off on going electric because of cost, the Grande Panda is one of the most affordable EVs you can buy today. At £21,835 with Fiat’s E-Grant, it undercuts many rivals while still offering a usable range and five-door practicality.
Buyers not ready to make the switch can opt for the £18,035 hybrid, which looks like stonking value. You get low running costs, a smooth automatic gearbox and a roomy interior at a price that few mainstream rivals can match.
With government ECG support expected to roll out soon, there’s a chance the EV’s price could drop even lower, making this one of the smartest small-car buys of 2025.

Editor’s view: super-cool, we need it here now!
This is exactly the sort of car I want to see more of. I was in the South of France last week, and am already seeing them out there – they look absolutely fantastic on the road. Fiat has delivered a small EV that looks cool, feels practical and doesn’t price ordinary buyers out of the market. That’s definitely the trend for 2025, and it’s a welcome one.
I also like that Fiat isn’t waiting around for the government grant details. By rolling out its own E-Grant now, it’s showing real commitment to affordability – and putting pressure on other brands to follow. My only beef is that it’s not here now and we still don’t know its Euro NCAP rating.
The Grande Panda could easily become the default choice for UK small car buyers, especially as it undercuts the Renault 5 E-Tech, and arguably looks even more distinctive. If the government ECG adds further support, this Fiat has all the makings of a proper gamechanger.
