Citroën C2 VTS boot space, practicality and safety

2004 - 2009 (change model)
Practicality rating: 2.5 out of 52.5

The C2 scored a reasonable four stars in the official Euro NCAP crash tests, which was a high score when the car was launched in 2003. It comes with decent safety kit for the price, including seatbelt pre-tensioners, four three-point seatbelts and dual front airbags. ABS was optional on some models, until 2004, when it was fitted to every car as standard.

Security is taken care of with remote central locking, deadlocks and an immobiliser.

Boot space is extremely limited, especially with the rear seats slid back for maximum legroom but with 193 litres of space, luggage room is on par with similar size cars. The good news is that the C2 VTS, like the rest of the range, features a split tailgate which is handy if you’re in a tight car park or have heavy items to load. This Citroen is only available as a three-door however and getting into and out of the back seats is not a particularly easy process.
