Citroën Xsara Picasso Estate (2000 - 2010) boot space, practicality and safety
It’s four-star Euro NCAP rating was good when the Xsara Picasso was launched but the majority of newer rivals have five-star ratings – as does the C4 Picasso. All models get ABS, dual front and side airbags and three-point seatbelts, but security isn’t so good – there are no deadlocks or an alarm, but all models do get an immobiliser and remote central locking.
With a roomy interior and excellent headroom the Picasso is ideal for families, even if you have teenagers to ferry around. It’s happy with five on board and the three seats in the back will fold and tumble forward to improve boot space. They are also light enough to remove altogether – giving the Citroen a van-like load area. Up front there’s a decent amount of cubbyholes and cupholders.
