Saab has unveiled the new model that will replace its 12-year-old 9-5 in the UK next year.
The new 9-5 is the first in a line of new models for the company, which has recently been sold to Dutch car company Spyker.
It shares major components with the Vauxhall Insignia, including low-emission diesel engines, but should have enough Saab heritage in its design to please enthusiasts of the Swedish brand.
The all-turbo engine line-up includes a 180bhp 1.6-litre, a 220bhp 2.0-litre, a 300bhp all-wheel drive 2.8-litre V6, and a 160bhp 2.0-litre diesel. All-wheel drive will also be offered on the 2.0T, while a 190bhp twin-turbo diesel is expected to follow, as well as an estate version.
The manual version of the diesel has CO2 emissions of 139g/km, while the 1.6T produces 179g/km.
Features include keyless entry, head-up display and hard-disk navigation and music file storage.
Expect prices to start at about £24,000 when the model arrives in the UK in 2010.
