Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 40 - 72 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Hyundai i30 Tourer running costs are fairly low thanks to the efficient engines. Indeed, in Comfort 1.6 CRDi trim with the 114bhp diesel engine the car returns a claimed 67.3mpg on the combined cycle. That represents a 12% increase over the same trim in the previous iteration of i30 Tourer.

The green choice when considering Hyundai i30 Tourer emissions has to be the lower-powered 1.6-litre diesel, which emits 110g/km of CO2 making it cheap to tax for both private and company car drivers.

There’s little to worry about regarding Hyundai i30 Tourer reliability. There haven’t been any recalls recorded by VOSA, and thanks to the five-year triple care package that comes with every new Hyundai there isn’t a lot of reason to be concerned about breakages.
