Just one on offer: a 2.9 CRTD diesel unit with 150bhp. As its performance figures suggest – 0-62mph in 12.6 seconds and a top speed of 104mph – it’s unremarkable on road and can feel lumbering at times. But that’s to be expected as intended for agricultural and off-road use. It makes a capable tow car, but acceleration is slow and noisy.

Manual gearbox feels heavy and gearchanges can be slow. Auto gearbox works well in town. Is slow away from the lights, but power steering makes light work of tricky situations. Overtaking needs a long stretch of straight (wide) road. Soaks up bumps but wallows and rolls in corners (much worse in 2WD). Steering is rather vague and inaccurate, but no worse than other big old-fashioned 4x4s.

Brakes are adequate, but you can’t see over hedges, as expected.
