Jaguar XK R-S Coupe (2011 - 2014) boot space, practicality and safety
The kitchen sink has been thrown at the XKR-S to keep its credentials ahead, or least in line with the rest. There’s an adaptive restraint technology system that pre-loads seatbelts and other safety system if it thinks an accident is imminent.
Front and side airbags for both driver and passenger, whiplash reduction, pedestrian safety, ISOFIX child seat fitting at the rear, dynamic stability control and active differential control, emergency brake assist and electronic brake distribution are all featured too.
Jaguar XKR-S safety hasn’t been tested by Euro NCAP but it should protect you well should the worst happen.
For a sports car, Jaguar XKR-S practicality levels are perfectly acceptable.
On our test we stuck a couple of fairly sizeable weekend bags in the rear without having to squish them in. At the front there’s more than enough head and legroom and although the A-pillars are pretty sizeable they are not intrusive.
Rear visibility isn’t great though. Of course, this a proper performance car, but you don’t have to perform acrobatics to get in and out of it.
