Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 19 - 31 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Discovery still retains its value. Fuel economy isn’t impressive on the petrol units but there are lots of LPG conversions about which are worth getting. Neglecting servicing is a false economy and could cost you dearly.

Early model was known to be niggly and if servicing isn’t maintained it is capable of continuing this tradition. However, Discos serve many people many years as dependable workhorses.
