  • Feels a class above
  • Panoramic sunroof standard
  • Plenty of cheaper plastics

How is the quality and layout?

It’s a bit nicer than you’d expect for the money, though it unsurprisingly feels cheaper than its more expensive rivals, such as the Renault 5 E-Tech. The textured dashboard trim and metal door handles help lift the ambience, and the panoramic sunroof makes the cabin feel bright and airy. There are scratchy plastics below eye level, but nothing worse than you’d find in far pricier rivals. There are

There’s minimal physical switchgear. Most functions are controlled via the touchscreen, including the heating and ventilation. That’s not ideal – small touch sliders can be hard to hit when driving, especially for those with larger fingers.

The T03’s interior is better than you’d expect for the price, but we’d like a few more proper buttons.

Overall, it feels modern and airy – more like a car from a class above. Compared with the Dacia Spring, it’s streets ahead.

Infotainment and tech

A 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen dominates the centre of the dash. It looks smart and is responsive, but the layout is cluttered. Simple tasks like adjusting the radio or setting the sat-nav require several menu layers – not great for on-the-move tweaks.

There’s no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which is a shame, although there is built-in voice control. It understands basic commands but can be slow to respond. A driver display behind the wheel shows speed and battery info clearly.

A big touchscreen is fitted as standard, but lacks Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

There are some neat touches, like a digital instrument cluster and ambient lighting. But overall, we’d trade some of the gimmicks for simpler controls.

Comfort

  • Seats lack support
  • Lots of headroom
  • Basic but effective

The front seats are lightly padded and trimmed in durable-feeling fabric. They’re fine for short trips but lack lateral support or lumbar adjustment. Heated seats and electric adjustment aren’t available, though it’s worth the reminder again that this is the UK’s cheapest new car.

Rear passengers get generous headroom thanks to the tall roof, but legroom is limited. The rear bench is flat and not particularly shaped for adults, though kids will be happy enough.
