Once again, there really isn’t much to complain about here. The parts used are all from the very highest quality section of the Mercedes parts bin.

There’s a 12.3-inch screen which displays multimedia and navigation information, controlled by the rotary selector dial next to the gear lever.

The instrument binnacle is a screen too, and will display all manner of trip computer, navigation and engine information. It will also show the optional night vision screen when required.

All of the leather and plastics are of the highest possible quality. This really is a car that makes you feel like a king.

It’s probably not going to come as a huge surprise to learn that Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG comfort levels are stratospheric.

Thanks to Magic Body Control suspension, the ride quality is imperious to pretty much any other car on the market. The way it absorbs bumps and undulations in the road is unbelievable; you simply don’t feel anything smaller than a speed bump.

Road and wind noise are very well insulated from the cabin, while that engine only roars when you plant your right foot into the carpet.

The front seats are brilliant – they’re seriously comfortable (especially the headrests) yet also supportive and packed with electronic gizmos such as heating, ventilation and massaging.

As is often the case with long-wheelbase cars like this, the rear is an equally nice place to find yourself.

Ticking a few boxes on the options list further boosts comfort levels, as described in the Equipment section of this review.
