MINI Cooper JCW verdict
2024 onwards
(change model)

What we like
The JCW’s extrovert styling and strong performance, it’s eye-catching and user-friendly infotainment, and it’s build quality. Worth pointing out it’s very good value of money at less than £34,000, as well. We also like that a small, petrol hot hatchback such as this exists at all when everyone is switching to SUVs and electric power.
What we don’t like
The suspension is far too stiff which is bad for comfort and has less-than-desirable knock-on effects for the rest of the driving experience. When you’re in the mood to get a shift on and have a smooth piece of Tarmac before you, the JCW is a hoot to drive. The rest of the time, it’s just a bit annoying, a bit try-hard. The convertible’s body structure isn’t stiff enough for this kind of power, either.
