It scored four out of five stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. It has driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags and Isofix child safety seat anchor points. Traction control is only fitted to top spec models.
The boot on the Primera is slightly down compared to most rivals, because it’s a little more generous to back seat passengers. With those seats folded it can draw upon the rear seat space and compares with all but the biggest load carriers.
