OMODA 9 verdict
2025 onwards
(change model)

While not the most polished plug-in hybrid SUV, the Omoda 9 offers an awful lot more for the money than the equivalent Volkswagen Tayron or Skoda Kodiaq.
What we like
There’s a lot to admire about the Omoda 9. Performance is punchy for a plug-in hybrid at this price point, and the electric-only range is very impressive. Interior quality impresses, and you get loads of standard kit without the need to tick option boxes.
What we don’t like
Not everything hits the mark. The low-speed ride is a little too fidgety for something aiming at a premium vibe despite soft springs that don’t do the handling any favours. There are also a couple of spots with really downmarket plastics that don’t help the luxury feel.
