The 407 Coupe shares a similar interior to the saloon and SW models, but that’s not a good thing. The centre console is confusing and has too many buttons while the indicator stalks and switches feel like the belong in a much cheaper car. The driving position isn’t great either and the seat could do with being a few inches lower. The front screen stretches far ahead of the driver, creating an impression of space and light, but it also means the extended pillars present more of an obstruction at junctions and roundabouts.

The sleek shape of the 407 Coupe means low wind noise at speed and all occupants should feel like they have sufficient space (it offers greater interior dimensions than the old 406 Coupe). The front seats are unique to the Coupe and offer a good compromise between comfort and support. They remain comfortable even after half a day at the wheel. The rear seats offer a good level of lateral support too and the rear is roomy enough for adults.
