  • Same space as regular 2008
  • And the boot is the same size too
  • Ideal for a small family

In creating the electric 2008, Peugeot hasn’t compromised the car’s practicality. In some cases, electric cars can have smaller boots (more so in plug-in hybrid cars), but the e-2008 boasts the same spacious interior and large boot as the regular 2008.

That means four adults will fit comfortably thanks to a generous amount of space in the rear, with seat bases angled more than normal to create a bit more room for your legs. Headroom is generous once you’re in, but the roof is a little lower than in a Kona Electric or e-Niro.

Up front, there’s plenty of space to stretch out, with the same clever storage areas to keep all your bits and bobs in place.

2020 Peugeot 2008 boot

In the boot, there’s 405 litres of space, which is the same as the regular 2008 (pictured) when the boot floor is in its highest position. The e-2008 does without the ability to lower the floor, though, so doesn’t have quite the same outright capacity with the seats in place. This does mean you don’t get a lip to load things over, and the seat backs are flush with the boot floor when you fold them down.

  • Plenty of safety kit available
  • Including driver assistance tech
  • Five-star Euro NCAP rating

The e-2008 shares its Euro NCAP crash safety rating with the regular 2008, and comes available with a wide range of driver assistance technology to keep you out of trouble on the move. Not all of it comes as standard, though, with lower-spec models doing without some key equipment. That means it gets a four-star Euro NCAP crash safety rating, while higher-spec models come with a five-star rating.

Automatic models can be fitted with an adaptive cruise control system with a stop and go function, as well as lane-keep assist and a lane-positioning system to maintain position in the lane. These are part of the Drive Assist Plus package.

There’s also automatic emergency braking, automatic parking, lane-departure warning, a driver alertness warning, automatic high-beam, blindspot monitoring and traffic sign recognition. All of this kit comes on higher-spec cars with a Safety Pack fitted, while lower-spec cars come with some (but not all) of it.

Euro NCAP Rating – 4 stars

The Peugeot e-2008 SUV was tested by Euro NCAP in 2019 and was awarded a 4 star overall rating. This overall rating is calculated from the following individual ratings:

4 star rating
Test 2019
Individual safety ratings
Adult Occupant: 91%
Child Occupant: 84%
Vulnerable Road Users: 62%
Safety Assist: 68%

Euro NCAP provides motoring consumers with a realistic and independent assessment of the safety performance of some of the most popular cars sold in Europe. The safety ratings are determined from a series of vehicle tests, designed and carried out by Euro NCAP. These tests represent, in a simplified way, important real life accident scenarios that could result in injured or killed car occupants or other road users.
