Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 49 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

With low new prices, the Savvy should hold its value quite well. It’s a shame more wasn’t done to reduce the insurance groups further – the best cars in this sector fall into group one and two, while the Savvy Street is in group three and the Style in group four.

The Savvy is fairly eco-friendly with emissions of 134g/km CO2 but other small cars are able to offer better power and performance with lower emissions. Economy is good at 50mpg, although around town this will drop to 37mpg.

The Savvy is backed up by one of the most comprehensive warranties in the entire motor industry, which shows Proton has great confidence in its product. However there was a recall in 2008 for a wheel bearing fault which affected 2,600 cars.
