Renault Megane Hatchback boot space, practicality and safety

Strong bodyshell – the original Megane scored four stars (out of four) in the Euro NCAP test. ABS, passenger and side airbags standard on all cars after 1999. Immobiliser is good, but door locks are weak.
Decent sized boot easily takes a family’s weekend luggage. Storage space inside is reasonable, too.
