This is an area where the Previa shows its age, as there is not much active safety equipment for the entry level GS, although other models in the range have a driver’s airbag and ABS brakes. Rather confusing in that some versions come with an alarm, while only the top of the range GX initially got an engine immobiliser. This sort of vehicle needs more protection, which many buyers would have fitted.

One thing the Previa does not lack is space, the interior lacks a little versatility despite seating up to eight people. The seats do not swivel, or do many tricks and the rear door is on the right side only which is something you have to remember when parking. Otherwise the sliding door is ideal. Bigger load capacity than many of its rivals, too.
