Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

Oh dear, what were VW thinking when they let the tech geeks loose on the golf 8 dashboard. A good car ruined by a confusing, unintuitive and arguably dangerous touchscreen display that simply iterates and distracts rather than enhancing the driving experience. The primary controls of fan speed, heaters, volume are all unlit sliders that are nearly impossible to see at night requiring frequent glances away from the road to operate. Stupid. The voice activation is a PAID option on this car when all of its competitors have voice activation for free. All the more irritating when the controls are so useless so free voice Acc would be much appreciated. The interface is slow to react and constant visual checks are necessary to ensure proper display and function, really really dangerous when you should be concentrating on the road. Lane assist is on permanently unless you disengage it every time you start the car. Stupid. If you input your driver ID you have to enter a PIN every time you start the car...why is this a good idea vw? Its a car not a bank account,!
Honestly I've I've driven hundreds of cars and really wanted to like this golf 8 but a good car has been ruined by a bean counter who thinks that 1.5 tons of moving metal can be operated like an iPhone....wrong.
