Audi A1 S1 boot space, practicality and safety

2014 - 2018 (change model)
Practicality rating: 3 out of 53.0

Although Audi S1 safety hasn’t been tested specifically by independent experts Euro NCAP, the regular three-door A1 was awarded a five-star rating when tested in 2010.

Powerful brakes and a sophisticated Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system help keep the A1 under control and there’s a compliment of six airbags should the worst happen.

Like the regular A1, the S1 seats four. The boot isn’t huge at 210 litres (or 860 with the 50:50-split rear seat backs folded) – you’ll just about fit two medium-sized suitcases in there.

There’s a decent amount of cubby space for loose items around the interior, including a plastic moulding with cup holders between the rear seats.

Leg room for rear passengers is reasonable enough behind an average-sized driver.
