Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 30 - 67 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Audi A6 running costs aren’t too bad considering the size of the car. The 2.0-litre TDI is the best for fuel economy – official stats claim it will return 57.6mpg on an average run.

Audi A6 emissions are competitive. Pick of the bunch is the 2.0-litre TDI start/stop – it emits 129g/km of CO2.

Audi A6 reliability shouldn’t be a problem. Audi cars are well-known for good reliability. The engines that power the seventh-generation A6 are all proven and should be more than up to the job. The dealer network has a good reputation for its professional service.
