Audi TT RS boot space, practicality and safety
The TT hasn’t been crash tested by Euro NCAP, but judging by Audi’s other cars it would likely perform very well. The RS comes with front and side airbags, an Isofix child seat mount on the front passenger seat, ESP stability control which can correct the cars line during a skid, high performance brakes and roll over protection hoops in the roadster.
There’s also a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
While the coupe version may have four seats compared to just two in the roadster, they’re really not useable for adult passengers. Instead they’re more likely to come in handy as extra luggage space. There’s good boot space in the coupe with 290 litres, more than a Mercedes SLK or Nissan 370Z, while the roadster offers a decent 250 litres with the roof up.
Dropping the roof is a doddle as there are no catches or handles to release, just one button which retracts it in a mere 12 seconds. There’s not a great deal of storage up front, but the roadster does have some useful cubby holes including one behind each of the seats.
