The Parkers Verdict

With four doors, five seats and a sensibly-sized boot, the BMW M3 can slot into most family’s lives without much, if any, compromise. It can be made quiet and comfortable, particularly at urban speeds and the level of standard equipment is suitably generous.

There’s an air of discretion about the M3’s styling too. At first glance it could be a 320d with an M Sport body kit to the uninitiated, but closer inspection reveals deeper, more scalloped bumpers, a power bulge on the bonnet, swollen wheel arches to accept the widened, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and a leather-swathed sports interior. You can also specify it in two M-exclusive colours, Austin Yellow and Yas Marina Blue, both of which will ensure you get noticed.
