Overview

The BMW 6-Series Convertible was developed alongside the standard Coupe and arrived in the UK at exactly the same time in 2004. With an intricate soft-top design, which includes retractable rear windscreen, the 6-Series possesses enough style to compete with glamorous wind-in-the-hair motors from Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar. As a two-plus-two seater it’s pretty generous compared to some rivals, and there’s a great choice of engines including a racy sounding six-cylinder engine, muscular V8 and a punchy but frugal diesel.

It’s also great to drive with accurate steering although the ride is a little too firm which takes the edge of comfort.
