It’s a new week, and I’m back with my handpicked Lease of the Week. I spend a lot of my life studying the new car market, looking for when it’s best to strike if you’re after a bargain, and this week I’ve spotted a new car deal for a model that simply cannot garner any more praise from us here at Parkers.

In last week’s edition, I looked at the plug-in serenity offered by the Volkswagen Passat, a comfortable motorway cruiser with a big boot and plug-in power for a low monthly price. How can I improve on such a wafty, spacious car? How about a double trophy winner in the 2025 Parkers Car of The Year Awards?

The Renault Scenic E-Tech needs little introduction here at Parkers; it's a two-time winner in this year's Parkers Awards, including our overall Car of The Year Award.

We've all been blown away by the Scenic E-Tech as a complete package. It's an electric family SUV that manages to be both desirable and capable. Inside, there's plenty of room for growing families, with a decent boot and plenty of space in the rear. It's also really well-finished inside, with a blend of high-quality, eco-minded materials that help it stand above its rivals.

It's quick and efficient at charging on the go, and the 87kWh battery pack will deliver 300 miles of driving range. It's even reasonably fun to drive as family-sized SUVs go, thanks in part to the Scenic's relatively low weight.

Leasing prices for mid-sized electric SUVs are fierce, but the Renault Scenic E-Tech comes armed with some tempting offers. The best deals are reserved for the Techno examples – the entry-level Scenic – but that doesn't mean it'll be scratchy plastic and blanked-off panels. You'll still get a heated steering wheel and front seats, a heat pump to aid efficiency, keyless entry and Renault's excellent infotainment system, which uses Google integration perfectly. That's strong equipment levels for an entry-level family car.

A three-year lease could set you back just £260.34 per month with an initial rental fee of £2,343.06, equivalent to nine months' worth of payments. The limit of 5,000 miles per year is a little stingy, but the value is hard to argue against.

Out of its electric rivals, only the Peugeot E-3008 and Vauxhall Grandland Electric significantly undercut the Renault for monthly payments, and we certainly wouldn't bother with the Peugeot. We found it to be a poorly packaged, harsh-riding exercise in style over substance.

The Vauxhall Grandland Electric is better and perfectly adequate but still harsh-riding. I'd stick with the more comfortable Scenic with its interesting interior any day of the week.
