Ford Fiesta Hatchback running costs and reliability

Miles per pound (mpp)
Reliable fuel consumption data for comparison purposes is not available for this model.
What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 37 - 65 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Fiesta is cost effective to run and great value to buy one as a cheap used car. Ford parts and servicing are good value for money, while fuel and insurance compare well to rivals. As with most cars, depreciation is the biggest cost, but the Fiesta is one of the better performers in this class.
The Fiesta performs very well on the eco front. With an average of 142g/km CO2 across the range, its emissions are comparably low for a super mini hatchback. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.4-litre diesel, which is one of the greenest models in the range.
The Fiesta is proving to be reliable in the main with occasional niggles to trouble the unlucky.
