Picture space shuttle meets the Ritz, and you’ll start to get a feel for what it is like to slip behind the wheel of the XJR.

Your hands wrap around a luxury, leather steering wheel which can be heated at the touch of a button.

The driver’s main focus is occupied by the electronic dials that beam gently at you with an easy-to-see speedo and rev counter, while to the left of the central speedo is a dial presenting the main information regarding fuel and engine temperature status.

As the driver sits between the door’s high shoulder line and the deep central console you feel cocooned, which is particularly marked with the dark black leather interior.

The central console also houses a double cup holder (fine for a couple of standard drinks cans), pop-up cover which hides a tray for your wallet and such like, and the main gear selector.

Further up there is a touch screen which controls all the car’s infotainment functions such as sat nav, audio and car set-up. It’s an intuitive system to use and with touch control easy to navigate through the different menus.

This is a premium super saloon so Jaguar XJR comfort levels are sumptuous, whether you choose to travel up front or in the back.

Front seats are multi-adjustable plus they’re heated and cooled so there isn’t any skimping on providing the driver and his passenger a luxurious mode of travel.

Even rear seat passengers get a top-flight experience thanks to sumptuous seats which are also cooled and heated, plus there is a dual-zone climate control to create your own personal temperature ecosystem.
