Maserati Quattroporte Saloon interior, tech and comfort

First class aptly sums up the accommodation of the Quattroporte, which is as elegant inside as it is outside. Upholstered in soft Poltrona Frau leather and finished with distinctive piped edging, the seats are sumptuous as well as supportive and the combination of carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, front and rear centre consoles and doors and thick carpet creates a smart lounge environment.

It’s not especially modern – in both style and controls – but has a classy feel nonetheless.

This may not be the largest car of its kind, but the Maserati saloon is big enough to provide long distance comfort for four 6ft-plus occupants. Headroom in the rear is ample, as is shoulder room, but despite the provision of a headrest for a centre passenger, the bucket seat design shows the reach bench is intended to carry only two. A seat comfort pack is available which includes massaging, as well as heated and ventilated seats for both front and back rows.

Laminated glass is standard, so noise levels are impressively low, while separate front and rear zone climate systems allows passengers to control their own temperatures.
