Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 38 - 39 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

There’s only one version available, so Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG running costs are fairly simple to explain. Fuel economy is a claimed 40.9mpg on the combined cycle, which isn’t too bad for a car with such prodigious performance. CO2 emissions are between 161g/km and 165g/km depending on the size of the wheels you’ve picked.

With only one model, Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG emissions are between 161 and 165g/km of CO2 (depending on wheel-size). Although that’s high compared to many cars these days, for something producing 355bhp it’s actually very reasonable.

It’s likely that Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG reliability will be good. The A-Class it’s based on has a pretty good record. The engine is an unknown quantity since it’s new for this car, but it will have been tested extremely thoroughly before being put to use.
