MINI Cooper 5-Door verdict

If you like the Cooper 3-Door but it’s just too compromised for your needs, the 5-Door could be the ideal solution. It has more usable rear seats, a larger boot and generally feels more substantial without compromising the MINI’s fun driving experience, cool styling and high-quality interior.
Though it’s still not a particularly practical car, it remains one of the best small cars if you want a bit more space but without having to sacrifice style.
What we like
We like that it offers more space for passengers and luggage than the standard MINI, and for a fairly small £1,000 premium. But above that, this is still a hatchback that is great fun to drive, is available with some brilliant engines and has a modern and cool interior that is very impressive for such a small car.
What we don’t like?
Despite it being more spacious, there are still far roomier small cars out there, including the well-rounded Audi A1, with the boot being smaller than most rivals. Its looks aren’t quite as charming as the 3-Door and, as with most MINIs, it’s among one of the most expensive cars in its class, especially once it has a few options on it.
