With any high performance car you can always expect expensive running costs and the Evo X is no exception. Fuel, insurance and road tax will all be high but some improvement has been made to the servicing schedule. The previous car needed attention every 4500 miles but the X has 10,000-mile intervals. Additionally a servicing plan is also available for £400 which covers the vehicle’s first three scheduled services.

It’s worth noting that the SST gearbox has three settings but the most aggressive, Super Sport, is intended for use only on a closed circuit racetrack and any damage caused by racing or driving on a racetrack will not be covered under warranty.

It’s far from surprising to find that the high performance Evo X is a very eco-unfriendly car. The average CO2 emissions across the range are a hefty 272g/km – although that’s on par with similar high performance cars. Fuel economy is poor too with an average of just 24mpg.

This is an all new engine so it’s difficult to predict how reliable it will prove, but judging by previous Mitsubishi engines it is likely to be incredibly strong mechanically.
