Fuel economy

A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test. Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 33 - 62 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

The Micra is a cheap car to buy and run. Running costs are kept down by low insurance groups, economical engines, reasonable servicing prices and cheap road tax so it’s no surprise it’s a popular choice among those who have just passed their tests. Re-sale values compare well with some of the best in the class so the Micra is a very sensible little car all round.

The Micra scores very well on the eco front and with an average of 143g/km of CO2 across the model line-up, its emissions are comparably low for a small car. The greenest model in the range is the 1.5dCi which can average more than 60mpg and emits 125g/km of CO2 (122g/km on the lower powered model).

Nissan has a impressive reputation for reliability and this Micra is no exception. It feels well built and the interior materials are good quality while the manufacturer makes regular appearances near the top of reliability surveys.
