Peugeot 607 Saloon (2000 - 2009) boot space, practicality and safety
The 607 scored four out of five stars for occupant protection in official European crash tests, which was a good score in 2000, but has become outclassed in recent years. However, six airbags (front driver and passenger, side and curtain airbags) were standard from its launch, and later models benefit from standard traction control and electronic stability control (traction control was originally only fitted to 3.0 SE models), as well as tyre pressure sensors.
Later models also come equipped with rear side airbags and laminated side windows.
Its 507-litre boot capacity was pretty generous in 2000, and is still decent today compared with cars like the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. A luggage net to help stop your week’s shopping rolling around the boot is standard, and the cabin also has several storage compartments, and the rear seats split and fold to increase luggage space.
